摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which can aim at reduction of inner resistance and improvement of sealing performance while being provided with a structure of sealing an opening of an outer package can by curtailing the number of parts and assembly man-hours. SOLUTION: A bottomed cylinder outer package can 20 to be one electrode terminal, power-generating elements consisting of a group of electrode plates housed in the outer package can 20 and electrolyte solution, a cap plate part 29 to be the other electrode terminal inserted into an opening of the outer package can 20 through an insulating member 28, a fixed plate 32 press fitted and fixed to an insertion-coupling recess 29f of the cap plate part 29 pressing an explosion-protection valve body 31 against a seal member 30 inserted into a ring-shaped fitting groove 29e formed on the inner side of the outer package can at the cap plate part 29, and a connection lead 34 with both ends connected to a collector plate 22 of the other electrode side of the group of electrodes and the cap plate part 29 are provided. The cap plate part 29 is fixed by calking inward an opening edge part of the outer package can 20.
