<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage nonlinear resistor porcelain composition for varistor that does not contain chromium element which causes environmental pollution, nor Li or K which is difficult to be preserved, and to control their characteristics. SOLUTION: This voltage nonlinear resistor porcelain composition is made with lead oxide as the main component, with its composition being [ZnO(1-x-y- z).CoOx.(R2 O3 )y.(Al2 O3 )z], where 0.1<=x<=15.0 mol% in terms of cobalt oxide (CoO), 0.01<=y<=0.5 mol% for R2 O3 (R2 O3 lies within the range of Pr2 O3.67 of 0-0.5 mol%, and may be substituted partly or entirely with La2 O3 of 0.035-0.25 mol%), 0.0005<=z<=0.01 mol% is set to 100 mol% in terms of aluminum oxide (Al2 O3 ), and as additives, one kind having 0.01-2.00 mol%, from among MoO3 or WO3 or 1/2Nb2 O5 , or 1/2Ta2 O5 , or 1/2B2 O3 .</p> |
