<p>A mattress (1) for infants comprising a length (23), a width (25), a continuous first sleeping surface (13) and a continuous second sleeping surface (14), a head-end (11) and a foot-end (12). The foot-end (12) has a fixed thickness of mattress. The head-end (11) has a thickness that progressively increases with the distance from the foot-end (12). The head-end (11) and the foot-end (12) form a planar surface on the first sleeping surface (13) and two surfaces on the second sleeping surface (14), the two surfaces comprising a horizontal foot-end part and a sloping head-end part. A bed comprising: a) an articulated mattress support including a foot-end, a head-end, a joint (32) connecting said foot-end to said head-end; b) a locking mechanism (36, 37) configured to fix the angle of the head-end of the mattress support relative to the foot-end thereof in at least two positions, said at least two positions being coplanar and at an angle; and c) a bed frame (34) configured to support said mattress support so that said foot-end is substantially parallel to an underlying surface on which the bed is placed.</p> |
