The use of omega 3 or omega 6 mono and polyunsaturated fatty acid esters of tocopherol (I) in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and dietetic compositions to stimulate dermal mitochondrial respiratory capacity. The use of omega 3 or omega 6 mono and polyunsaturated fatty acid esters of tocopherol (I); R = residue of an aliphatic fatty acid having at least one double bond; n = 1 - 3 in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and dietetic compositions to stimulate dermal mitochondrial respiratory capacity. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I).
