PURPOSE: A device for sensing the correct position of a coil is provided to inform of the probability of an overturn by automatically sensing the correct position of a coil standing upright on a saddle base. CONSTITUTION: A device for sensing the correct position of a coil comprises left and right sensors(14,16) installed toward the left and right edges of a coil placed on a saddle base, a central censor(15) to sense the placement of the coil on the saddle base, left and right encoders(12,19) to transfer the left and right sensors to the left and right edges of the coil and to calculate the movement distance of the left and right sensors, and a control unit(11) to decide the placement state of the coil by calculating the distance difference of the left and right sensors and to indicate the placement state of the coil.
