An old and a replacement roll (06) are each supported by a pair of pivoted arms (02,A,02,B) with facing ends (04,A,04,B). One arm pair is positioned in a first roll-off position (11) to roll off the replacement paper roll, and is pivoted into a second adhesive position (09), above a rotary axis (33) of the new roll, to roll off the used roll. The relative distance between the pivot axis (05) of the arm pairs is smaller than twice the diameter of a new roll.
