<p>A driven plate (10) for a friction clutch has a hub (12), and an outer assembly (14) carrying at least one friction lining (26a,26b) arranged concentrically about the axis of rotation (15) of the hub. The hub is capable of limited rotational movement relative to the outer assembly and the driven plate further includes spring means (40) for resisting said relative rotational movement between the hub and the outer assembly. The hub (12) is also connected with the outer assembly (14) via linkages (42a,42b,42c) which act on the spring means (40) to change the loading on the spring means (40) non-linearly as the hub (12) rotates relative to the outer assembly (14).</p> |
