The control handle (A) for a powered wheelchair has a switch (320) movable between powered and unpowered conditions. With the switch movement towards the powered direction (X), over a second preset drive position, an increase in a preset user force is required to allow a change in drive power. The force required to increase the drive power above a set limit increases.
