PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing ellagic acid derivatives as an effective component is provided. Because the ellagic acid derivatives inhibit an e antigen secretion and have low cytotoxicity as well as having no influence on hepatitis virus DNA polymerase, it can be effectively used in treatment of hepatitis B. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition contains ellagic acid derivatives represented by the formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independent, H, OH or C1-3 alkoxy group. For example, an injectable solution containing 10mg effective component is prepared by dissolving 1g ellagic acid, 0.6g sodium chloride and 0.1g ascorbic acid in distilled water and then sterilizing at 20deg.C for 30min. |
