PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital signal receiver that can monitor an improper cable connection, a defect in a digital audio signal transmitter and control a mute circuit for each channel based on the monitor result. SOLUTION: The digital signal receiver of this invention is configured with a signal input section 13 that receives a digital signal, a signal detection means 14 that detects the presence of the digital signal, a synchronization detection means 15 that detects a synchronizing signal for the digital signal and a predetermined clock signal, and a display means 17 that displays the presence of the digital signal and synchronization detection information.
