PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera in which power consumption of a battery is reduced. SOLUTION: When a power switch 18 is switched from ON to OFF, a power supply control circuit 60 interrupts power supply to an image pickup function section 20, a communicating section 40, and a residual quantity of battery detecting/informing section 70. Power supply to memory section 30 is also interrupted if the count of an image pickup frame number counter 50 is '0', and power supply to the memory section 30 is continued if the count is '1' or above. When a residual quantity of battery detecting switch 19 is slid, a battery voltage detecting circuit 71 compares the voltage of a battery 80 with a reference voltage and a buzzer 72a is sounded such that the volume increases as the residual quantity of the battery 80 is decreased and the battery voltage is lowered. |
