A process for preparation of gel from a thermoplastic polyolefin-elastomer or a thermoplastic styrene-elastomer, or a mixture of this polymer and a plasticizer, where a gel melt for thermoplastic processing containing the thermoplastic elastomer and the plasticizer is prepared at a higher temperature is new. A gel is prepared from a thermoplastic polyolefin-elastomer or a thermoplastic styrene-elastomer, or a mixture of this polymer and a plasticizer, where a gel melt for thermoplastic processing containing the thermoplastic elastomer and the plasticizer is prepared at a higher temperature. The gel melt or at least one of its components, and a polymer homogeneously mixable in the melt with the hard phase but not with the soft phase of the thermoplastic elastomer, the polarity of which is greater than that of the hard phase and/or completely mixable with the soft phase of the thermoplastic elastomer, and an organic structure modifier not mixable with the hard phase are added. An Independent claim is included for a gel from the thermoplastic polyolefin/elastomer or thermoplastic styrene/elastomer or a mixture of the polymer and a plasticizer, having 30 % inherent anisotropy of its mechanical properties, e.g. its elasticity.
