An individually-powered feed roller assembly presents a fibre-fed to an opening cylinder forming part of an open-ended spinning assembly. The feed roller (21) drive assembly (4) esp. has a control unit (6). The drive unit (4) and/or control unit (6) is linked to a heat discharge plate (51) via a heat bridge (5). The cooling plate (38) defines the limits of the air passage walls to the opening cylinder (3). The opening cylinder is powered via a gear within the housing.
