PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent continuous paper from tearing and winding on a rotating part in a shaftless rotary press, even when a power supply is interrupted due to a trouble of a power source. SOLUTION: In the rotary press, a printing part and a folding part are driven by separate driving sources respectively and a printing material being braked in a feeding part is pulled in the folding part at least, while a blanket cylinder of the printing part is brought into contact with the printing material and operated for printing. In the control of this rotary press, braking of the printing material in the feeding part is switched over to be made by a prescribed braking force, while a voltage drop at a power failure is detected and a power failure signal is outputted. The power source being switched over to a storage power source, in the meantime, the blanket cylinder in the course of operation for printing is separated from the printing material and a pulling mechanism for the printing material in the folding part is stopped through deceleration within a prescribed time set beforehand. |
