PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the mounting works of a steering column on a steering member. SOLUTION: A column side bracket 13 situated below and attached to the steering column 10 is heaved to a member side bracket 2 fixed to the steering member 1, and the fit-in and engaging operation of a fastening bolt 14 to a notch 6 as a blind operation can be conducted only by pulling the steering column 10 toward the back of the vehicle at the timing the fastening bolt 14 abuts to an upper piece 5A of a bracket piece 5 of the member side bracket 2, followed by a fastening operation with the bolt 14 which can be made in the direction across the vehicle width in which the steering column 10 does not constitute any obstacle, and it is possible to facilitate the mounting works of the column side bracket 13 to the member side bracket 2.
