PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety by preventing a brake from being released even if a brake pedal is depressed when an outer facing plate such as a cover is open. SOLUTION: In a deadman type brake to release the brake by stepping the brake pedal 14 and pushing down a first link 16, a protrusion 64 is formed on the link 16. A link piece 62 comprising a lock part 63 serving also as a weight at a lower part is pivoted by a shaft 53, and an upper part of the piece 62 is rotatally connected to the bar body 66 side. In a state that a side cover 11 is closed, the body 66 is energized to the right direction and accordingly the piece 62 is clockwise rotated and then the part 63 and the protrusion 64 are shifted transversely. When the side cover 11 is open, the piece 62 is rotated clockwise and the part 63 is positioned below the protrusion 64. Thereby even when the pedal 14 is stepped, the protrusion 64 is engaged with the part 63 and pushing down of the pedal 14 is prevented.
