PURPOSE: Provided are phosphonium salt and its manufacturing method and use; and phosphine providing the phosphonium salt and its manufacturing method. The phosphonium salt is an constituent of a telomerization catalyst without depositing a precipitate in a reactional system at all when a telomerization reaction of a conjugated diene with an active hydrogen compound is continuously carried out on an industrial scale for a long period. CONSTITUTION: The phosphonium salt is represented by formula(1), wherein, R¬1 and R¬2 represent each a phenyl group which is substituted with a lower alkyl group; R¬3 represents a phenylene group which may be substituted with a lower alkyl group; and R¬7 and R¬8 represent each a C1-12 hydrocarbon capable of containing a hydrogen atom or a substituent; and R¬9 represents each a C1-5 hydrocarbon capable of containing a hydrogen atom or a substituent.
