PURPOSE: A flat color CRT is provided to ensure white uniformity and color purity during driving of the CRT, by forming non-through holes between through holes in the effective portion of the tension mask. CONSTITUTION: A flat color CRT comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is formed; a funnel connected to the panel; an electron gun mounted to the neck portion of the funnel, and which emits electron beams toward the phosphor screen; a tension mask disposed with a predetermined spacing from the phosphor screen, and which serves as a color discriminator; and a rail for supporting the tension mask. The tension mask includes an effective portion having a plurality of electron beam passing holes, and a non-effective portion surrounding the effective portion. One or more non-through holes(7) are formed between through holes of the effective portion.
