PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sealing a door opening of a hanging sliding door, which brings about stable and reliable sealing, without causing failures. SOLUTION: The device for sealing the door opening 19 of the hanging sliding door 3 is provided with the sliding door 3 being made to travel, while opening/closing together with vertical frames 4a and 4b disposed on both sides in direction of opening/closing; the sliding door 3 is made to move vertically and advance/retreat with respect to the vertical frames 4a and 4b; and accordingly, all the sides of the door opening 19 can be sealed, including a floor surface 20 which are located below, when the sliding door 3 is closed.
