PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material having an excellent weather resistance and antifouling property and a good adhesion to various coated films. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating material contains a copolymer (A) obtained by polymerizing from 5 to 80 mass % t-butyl (meth)acrylate (a), from 0.1 to 10 mass % ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a piperidyl group (b), from 0.1 to 25 mass % ethylenically unsaturated monomer (c) having hydroxyl group (c), from 0.1 to 10 mass % ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (d) and from 0 to 94.7 mass % another ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e) [provided that the total of components (a)-(e) is 100 mass %].
