Optical multiplexer based on interferometer with couplers

The multiplexer includes two optical waveguides (3,4). There is a directional coupling portion (1) in which the waveguides are provided to transfer a light between the waveguides. A second directional coupling portion (2) transfers a light between the two waveguides. The coupling portions are such that a length of the first optical waveguide between the first and second coupling portions and a length of the second waveguide between the coupling portions have a difference delta L.
