<p>The static mixer (10) contains screw-like mixing sections (16, 18) of differing pitch. Preferred Features: The mixing sections form a sequence alternating between greater and lesser pitch. Their pitches differ. The mixing sections differ in their sense of rotation. The initial edge of one section, is offset at an angle with respect to the terminal edge of the preceding section. Mixing sections with smaller pitch, are shorter than those with greater pitch, measured along the length of the channel (14). The sections of smaller pitch, have a length about 0.5 times the channel diameter. Those with greater pitch have a length of 0.9-1 times the channel diameter. A mixing section has an angle of rotation of about 180 degrees .</p> |
