WHEELCHAIR CARRIER FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the work of loading wheelchairs onto or unloading them from vehicles. SOLUTION: A wheelchair carrier 10 for vehicles is a combination of a wheelchair receiving base 60 and a stretching mechanism 100 with a 4-joint link 20. Four links in the 4-joint link are called as first, second, third and fourth links 31, 32 33 and 34 clockwise from below. The first link is mounted on the floor 42 of a vehicle and the wheelchair receiving base 60 on the third link. The four-joint link is swung vertically by manual operation to allow the housing of the wheelchair receiving base into the vehicle 41 or the unloading thereof from the inside of the vehicle. The four-joint link makes a connection between the first and second links with the stretching mechanism 100 and is provided with a lock mechanism for locking the stretching action of the stretching mechanism and an operation lever for operating the lock mechanism. The lock mechanism is released only when the operation lever is operated to allow the stretching action of the stretching mechanism.
