PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for adding fibrous chemicals in solid/liquid separation or dehydration, by which the occurrence of dust is suppressed, the workability is improved and the chemicals cam quantitatively be supplied. SOLUTION: In the method for adding the fibrous chemicals to a material to be treated to carry out the solid/liquid separation or the dehydration, the fibrous chemicals to be added is manufactured by cutting fiber just before the addition of the material to be treated. The apparatus for adding the fibrous chemicals to carry out the solid/liquid separation or the dehydration is composed of an apparatus for manufacturing the fibrous chemicals by cutting the fiber and an apparatus for mixing the cut fibrous chemicals with the material to be treated.
