PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To weld an iron core and a permanent magnet together by laser as designed, without bulges or a voids being formed in the iron core, after laser welding. SOLUTION: In a polarizable electromagnet which is equipped with a U-shaped iron core 1, having foot pieces 1a at both ends and having a coil 2 wound at the center and a permanent magnet 3 positioned between the foot pieces 1a and abutting on the foot pieces 1a and whose permanent magnet 3, is fixed between the foot pieces 1a through laser welding, a groove-form release part 1c, which releases gas generated through laser welding in the direction of taking it away from a laser welded place, along the space between the permanent magnet 3 and the foot pieces 1a, is provided at the abutment face 1b of the foot piece 1a against the permanent magnet 3.
