PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively execute, in a recordable optical disk library device or the like, automatic reorganization processing of a volume to reuse the medium. SOLUTION: This reorganization processing method determines (701) whether or not the number of remained unwritten medium faces in the volume is few, if the number is few, extracts (703, 704) a medium face of a low data effective ratio in the volume, begins recording of effective data on the extracted medium face onto the medium face of the current write target, relocates (705) the data, and deletes the registration (707) of the medium face that has only ineffective area from the volume. In addition, the medium face of which registration is deleted from the volume is formatted (708), and the formatted medium face is again registered with the volume.
