The present invention is directed to novel methods for diagnosis and prognosis of Multiple Sclerosis by identifying differentially expressed genes. Moreover, the present invention is also directed to methods that can be used to screen test compounds and therapies for the ability to inhibit multiple sclerosis. Additionally, methods and molecule targets (genes and their products) for therapeutic intervention in multiple sclerosis are described.
