In an ion-exchanger measuring electrode as disclosed in the parent Specification 1, 177, 406, the internal reference electrode directly contacts the ion-exchanger liquid directly without an aqueous electrolyte. The electrode comprises an e. g. silver wire (28) sealed into a glass tube (24) with the exposed end having a first inner coating (30) of a fused salt consisting of AgCl; KCl; NaCl or mixtures thereof and an outer coating (32) of a fused salt consisting of 0À2 to 5À0% LiCl and the remainder KNO 3 , NaNO 3 or mixtures thereof. The ratio of preferred mixtures is given and specific examples of complete electrodes are described. |
