PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an attachment cartridge for recording head cartridge in which the resource of an existing recording head cartridge of other type can be utilized effectively and the features of the existing recording head cartridge of other type, which are lost from a new recording head cartridge, can also be utilized effectively. SOLUTION: The attachment cartridge for fixing an existing recording head cartridge of other type to a recorder has a shape compatible with that of a dedicated recording head cartridge and has a function for converting the interface between the recording head cartridge of other type and the recorder and means for identifying the type of the recording head cartridge. In the recorder, the type of a recording head cartridge and an attachment cartridge and the type of a recording head cartridge of other type mounted on the attachment cartridge are identified and printing is performed by setting print conditions (resolution, ink ejection frequency, heat pulse, CR speed, and the like) suitable for the mounted recording head cartridge. |
