OFDM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE OF DATA TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE: An OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) communication system and method for improving the performance of data transmission is provided to improve the performance for a transmission error for symbols to which an RS(Reed-Solomon) coding method is applied. CONSTITUTION: If data(201) to be transmitted is inputted, the information data(201) is inputted to a convolutional encoder(202) after being switched according to a required control. The convolutional encoder(202) executes convolutional coding for the inputted information data(201) and outputs the convolutionally coded data to an interleaver(203). The interleaver(203) interleaves the signal output from the convolutional encoder(202) according to a preset interleaving method and outputs the interleaved signal to a serial/parallel converter(206). In case that the information data(201) is inputted to an RS encoder(204), the RS encoder(204) executes RS coding for the inputted information data(201) and outputs the RS-coded data to an interleaver(205). The interleaver(205) interleaves the signal output from the RS encoder(204) and outputs the interleaved signal to the serial/parallel converter(206). The serial/parallel converter(206) converts the interleaved serial signal into M numbers of parallel signals and outputs them to a sub-channel repeater(207). The sub-channel repeat operation of the sub-channel repeater(207) is controlled by a repeat controller(208). The repeat controller(208) controls sub-channel repeat transmission using channel information(208).
