PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder employing a UV-curing ink in which energy efficiency is enhanced while stabilizing ink ejection performance by utilizing heat emitted from a light source for curing the ink for warming the ink or the head. SOLUTION: A carriage 102 is made of an aluminum alloy and has L-shaped cross-section. A printhead 101 is mounted in the vicinity of the forward end at the horizontal part 102a of the carriage 102. A UV lamp 121 is mounted in the vicinity of the root at the horizontal part 102a of the carriage 102. A duct cover 122 made of an aluminum alloy is fixed to the front side of the carriage 102 to cover the printhead 101 and the UV lamp 121. The duct cover 122 and the carriage 102 define a chamber 123 surrounding the printhead 101, the UV lamp 121 and an ink supply pipe 107. |
