PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect sellout accurately by calculating the ice storage quantity of an ice maker accurately, and to save power by setting an energy save mode. SOLUTION: Full state of the ice storage chamber of an ice maker is detected by an ice level switch provided therein and starting from the time point when the full state is detected by the ice level switch, delivered quantity of ice is subtracted from the quantity of ice corresponding to the full state every time when a drink is sold and the ice making quantity corresponding to the operating time of the ice maker is added thus calculating the residual quantity of stored ice. In such a controller for ice maker, a calculation value of the ice storage quantity is corrected based on the ambient temperature detected by a temperature sensor, and the relational data of the ambient temperature, the ice making capacity of the ice maker and the quantity of melted water being produced so that sellout can be detected with substantially no error. Furthermore, power consumption is reduced by making possible to set an energy save mode with regard to the upper and lower limits of ice storage quantity and the time band.
