PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for completely scattering scales falling down on a heat insulation plate of an induction heater from the heat-protecting plate. SOLUTION: In the induction heater in which the heat resistant plate for shielding radiation heat from a work to be led into an induction heating coil is disposed inside the induction heating coil, the alternating magnetic field is applied to the work by the induction heating coil to heat the work, gas is blown against the heat-protecting plate at two or more different blowing angles when scattering the scales produced on the surface of the work and falling down on the heat-protecting plate by blowing gas from the inlet side or the outlet side of the induction heating coil.
