PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium that is printable all over the surface including its clamp area. SOLUTION: A medium of this invention has, at least, a recording layer, a metal reflector layer, and a protective layer laminated sequentially on a transparent base, and the metal reflector layer is formed to cover all the recordable region completely and also more than 10% but less than 100% (in area ratio) of the non-recordable region. This invention also includes a medium that has information recording marks formed on the transparent base and, at least, a metal reflector layer and a protective layer are laminated sequentially on the transparent base, and the metal reflector layer is formed to cover all the recordable region completely and more than 10% but less than 100% (in area ratio) of the non-recordable region. The metal reflector layer thickness can be made 300 Å or more but 2500 Å or less and the protective layer can be formed to cover the metal reflector layer and contain a specified coloring agent. |
