Bipolar plate comprises a framework of two metallic plates (30) separated by segments (32, 34, 35) between which flows a cooling fluid. Fuel and oxidant collectors supply, via channels (33), the circulation channels (21I) of a composite conducting body (20). Recesses are provided in the metallic plates for production of the body (20) in a single operation by molding. Preferred Features: The body (20) comprises two layers on both sides of the framework except at the edge. At least one fuel or oxidant circulation channel (21S, 21I) is formed on each free surface of the body. A frame (11) of thermoplastic dielectric material is located on both sides of the framework and around the body (20). Collector recesses (15, 16) are provided at the periphery of the metal plates and the frame (11) for forming fuel and oxidant collectors. Supply channels (33) located between the plates connect the collector recesses (15, 16) to the circulation channels (21S, 21I). An Independent claim is given for a process for fabrication of a bipolar plate, involving assembling the metallic plates (30) and the separating segments (32, 34, 35) by means of an adhesive, molding the body (20) around the framework using molding recesses (36) in the metallic plates (30), and injection of the frame made of thermoplastic dielectric material, together with simultaneous injection of the silicone joints (4, 5) on the surface of the frame (11). |
