A single vessel (1) contains from top to bottom: a first chamber (2) for receiving the particles in suspension; a filter medium (4) which retains the solid particles and a second chamber (3) separated from the first chamber by the filter medium. This second chamber contains means of drawing through and evacuating the solvent received during the filtering and drying operations The first chamber is shaped like a cylinder (5) topped with a cone (6), with an opening at the end of the cone for loading the suspended particles. The second chamber is shaped like a cylinder with a domed or conical base and has means of fixing the second chamber to the first, preferably hinges (17). The filter medium is circular and of the same diameter as the cylinders that form parts of the first and second chambers. The means of drawing and evacuating the solvent are a pipe connected to a pump (20) during filtration and a ventilator or a vacuum pump (19) during drying. The vessel also has means of heating or heating/cooling by circulating a heating fluid (18) in a double envelope (13). The first chamber has a horizontal axle (12) in its cylindrical part on two fixed bearings (10, 11), so that it can rotate. The first chamber also has means (15) of supplying a gas or liquid of controlled composition, which allows selective desorption of certain solvent molecules and absorption of others on the same solid particles.
