PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a display for informing a user about what piece of music is to be reproduced next to a currently reproduced piece of music when reproducing a recording medium made in the state where the file sequence of recorded data is different from a data array for writing. SOLUTION: Recording data edited with a personal computer are printed on the recording surface of an optical disk D by using writing software, and this information is read by an optical pickup 8, amplified by a RF amplifier 9, and inputted in a digital signal processing circuit 10. A display part 14 connected to a system microcomputer 11 displays a file number when playing back a disk, the title of a currently reproduced piece of music, and the title of a piece of music to be reproduced next. The output of the digital signal processing circuit 10 is converted into stereophonic voice output signals L and R by a CD-ROM decoder 15, an MP3 decoder 17 and a D/A converter 18, A D-RAM 16 connected to the CD-ROM decoder 15 constitutes a shock-proof memory system.
