The package for a block of foodstuff, e.g. butter or margarine, comprises a sleeve of paper or foil which is wrapped around the block with its overlapping ends on the narrow side. The ends are then folded in. A small side flap (19) is folded down against the end of the block, a trapezium-shaped flap (21) is folded against this, a second side flap (22) is then folded down, followed by a final, trapezium-shaped flap (25). An Independent claim is included for a method for wrapping blocks of foodstuff which produces the package.
