PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image pickup device that can detect smear to obtain a correction value for proper white balance. SOLUTION: A video light through a lens system 10 or the like is emitted to a color image pickup element 12 and 3 primary color signals that are photographed are fed to a white balance correction circuit 15 through an analog/ digital converter circuit 14. Furthermore, a control signal from a system control microcomputer 16 is fed to a timing generating circuit 18 or the like to conduct control of a shutter speed or the like and the control signal is fed to a white balance correction circuit 15. Moreover, the 3 primary color signals from the analog/digital converter circuit 14 and integration data or the like of each of the 3 primary color signals along a read direction of an image pickup element 2 are obtained. A memory device 21 is linked with the microcomputer 16 and required correction data or the like are read from the memory device 21 on the basis of the data or the like supplied from a photometry circuit 20 and fed to the white balance correction circuit 15, which generates a control signal or the like. |
