PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide permanent magnet particles which can be formed into a permanent magnet having a large maximum energy product, its manufacturing method, and a permanent magnet made of the same. SOLUTION: Particles of hard magnetic phase and other particles of soft magnetic phase which are not compatible with each other are made 10 to 100 nm in width and 10 to 2000 nm in length respectively, and the particles of one phase cover the surfaces of the other phase for the formation of permanent magnet particles. For example, an alloy melt composed of 6 mol% Nd, 91 mol% Fe, and 3 mol% B is filled in a nozzle 21 heated with a heating coil 24 and discharged out through the nozzle tip 22 at a proper flow rate onto the surface of the rotary metal roll which rotates at a high speed for forming amorphous thin pieces 25 through a quenching method. The amorphous thin piece 25 is micronized by irradiation with a YAG laser beam in a chamber 31, and the fine particles are crystallized through a thermal treatment. The crystallized particles are formed into a bonded magnet or a sintered magnet. |
