Collapsible large tent comprises several bending resistant supports supporting a tarpaulin. A main support (1) having a higher strength compared with supports (2, 3) is arranged between the supports and connected with its head end to a node element (9). When erected, the tent forms a freely supported star roof. The main support lying close to or between the other supports in the collapsed state is connected with its foot end to a foot plate (15) anchored on the ground. An Independent claim is also included for a process for transporting and erecting the large tent. Preferred Features: The main support is located in the middle between the supports (2, 3) when the tent is in the collapsed state.
