The invention relates to a method for producing a case-type container (flight case) for transporting valuable objects that are to be protected against environmental influences. Said method is characterised by the following steps: a parallelepipedal hollow body is produced in a rotation moulding process, said hollow body being produced with external recesses in the wall surfaces for receiving fittings; the hollow body is sawn, parallel to two opposing surfaces, into two pieces of different heights, one piece forming the lid; and the fittings for handles and/or locks and/or hinges are subsequently mounted in the recesses.
