PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a load cell due to excessive torque and an external shock and to heighten the responsiveness and accuracy of output of the load cell. SOLUTION: A first shaft 21 of a torque arm 5 side is inserted in a first chamber 20b of a cylinder 20, a second shaft 22 of the load cell 6 side is inserted in a second chamber 20c of a cylinder 20, a first coil spring 23 is provided between a large diameter part 21a of the first shaft 21 and the opposite surface of a partition 20a of the first chamber 20b, and a second coil spring 23, 24 is provided between the large diameter part 22a of the second shaft 22 and a partition 20a of the second chamber 20c. When load exceeding rated load is applied to the load cell 6, the coil springs 23, 24 are compressed to absorb the shock to the load cell 6.
