METHOD OF MEASURING OPTICAL FIBER DRAWING TENSILE FORCE

A method of measuring an optical fiber drawing tensile force, comprising measuring the vibration of an optical fiber when the optical fiber is line-drawn, determining the optical fiber's fundamental frequency from peak frequencies contained in the vibration waveform's spectrum component, and converting the fundamental frequency into the tensile force of the optical fiber being drawn, wherein the fundamental frequency of the optical fiber is determined such that a group of peak frequencies is specified as a group of harmonic vibration rows from a plurality of peak frequencies contained in the above spectrum component, and each peak frequency contained in the above specified group of harmonic vibration rows is used, the group of peak frequencies including at least two peak frequencies where an interval between frequency 0 and a first peak frequency, an interval between the first peak frequency and a second peak frequency, ......, and an interval between a (n-1)th peak frequency and a nth peak frequency (n: natural number) are all identical.
