PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server system provided with a data falsification prevention function and capable of conveniently and safely performing a 24-hour operation at low cost, and a security system. SOLUTION: This server system that is provided with a hard disk 14 storing at least an operating system, application software and contents data and also receives connection from a plurality of clients through a network, is provided with a mode changeover switch 15 capable of physically switching a normal mode in which the hard disk 14 can write and a read only mode in which the hard disk 14 can not be written. The server system is switched to the read only mode to operate.
