PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drum. SOLUTION: This rotary drum has upstream open ends and downstream open ends and is formed with holes for separating the articles supplied into the inside from the upstream open ends to the articles of desired dimensions and the articles of the dimensions exceeding the desired dimensions on its peripheral wall. The holes have three axes which extend only in one direction from the centers of the holes and are equidistantly parted from the centers of the holes. The holes have first angles having vertices on the respective axes equidistantly parted from the centers of the holes. The lengths of the two first sides constituting the respective first angles are equal and the angle of the first angles facing the centers of the holes is below 180 deg.. The holes have the second angles constituted on the first sides on the side opposite to the first angles. The second angles are composed of the first sides and the second sides. The second sides extend in parallel to the axes extending through the vertices of the first angles composed by the first sides adjacent thereto and the second sides of the second angles constitute the third angles together with the second sides of the adjacent second sides on the side opposite to the first sides.
