<p>1344300 Moulding boots J D CARRIER SHOE CO Ltd 23 Dec 1971 [23 March 1971] 60147/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division A3] In a slush-moulded boot, the heel cavity is filled with a foamed resin, e.g. polyurethane. After a curing apparatus 16, the boots are passed in their moulds to an applicator 18 where adhesive is supplied through pipe 28, 30 to be applied in the cavity by a spray or brush. The boots continue along conveyers 12 to a station 20 where the cavity is filled with a foamed resin. Alternatively the cavity can be filled with a resin and foaming agent. After the foamed resin has hardened, the boots are removed by a machining station 24 where surplus material is removed. The station 24 is formed by two pillars 50 which rotatively support cutters (70), Fig. 6, not shown. The boots can be removed from the moulds before the cavity is filled.</p> |
