PURPOSE:To make it possible to enhance harmonic withstand capacity of an existing LC filter by means of a PWM converter connected in series therewith. CONSTITUTION:When harmonic components in power supply current exceeds a predetermined level, a PWM converter 5 generates a fundamental wave voltage in order to decrease basic wave current flowing through an LC filter 3 thus enhancing compensation of harmonic current while suppressing the current flowing through the LC filter 3 below a rated level. |
