PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter capable of easily securing a proper fastening amount when mounting the rolling bearing having the inner diameter surface of an inner race formed into a tapered hole on a shaft and a method for mounting the rolling bearing, using the adapter. SOLUTION: In this adapter for the rolling bearing in which the inner diameter surface of an inner race 2 constituted of an adapter sleeve 3 having the outer diameter surface forming a male screw 6 at one end side and a zoning part 7 in the shaft direction formed into a tapered shape, a lock nut 4 screwed into the male screw 6 and a washer 5 is formed into the tapered hole, angle indexes 14a and 14b showing a proper fastening angle of the lock nut 4 from a reference position set in the zoning part 7 are provided on the end face of the adapter sleeve 3, a position index 12 corresponding to the reference position is marked on the end face of the lock nut 4 at a retightening starting position, and the fastening amount is made proper by retightening and adjusting the position index 12 between the angle indexes 14a and 14b. |
