PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a plurality of film types with an easy operation while saving space. SOLUTION: A first transporting path 31 for carrying photographic films 33a of type 135 and a second transporting path 32 for carrying photographic films 33b of type IX240 are provided to a film carrier 30. Mirrors 64 and 65 are provided to a CCD scanner 38 so that they can be switched between a first position and a second position. When the 135-type photographic film 33a is read, the mirrors 64 and 65 are moved to the first position, and when the IX240-type photographic film 33b is read, the mirrors are moved to the 2nd position. Thus the images of the photographic films set to the first transporting path 31 and the second transporting path 32 can be read only by the changeover of the mirrors 64 and 65.
